What is the name of the cartoon where the yellow men. Minions are not only yellow men from the cartoon

If you pay attention to both old and new cartoons, you can trace an interesting trend - artists are increasingly populating their invented worlds with one-eyed heroes. Some are forgotten, while others become an integral part of modern pop culture. So let's try to remember those characters to whom no one will ever say: "Look at both!".

Verlioka. "Verlioka" (1957)

chief actor Soviet fairy tale became the one-eyed Verlioka, who scared away all the inhabitants of the forest with his bad temper. He offended the Hedgehog, deprived the Drake of his tail, almost crushed the Acorn, tore the Rope, however, the last straw was the kidnapping of the village girl. And yet, thanks to cunning and ingenuity, fairy-tale heroes defeated the villain.

Kang and Kodos. The Simpsons (1989 - present)

The second position in our list is occupied by two characters at once. Octopus aliens from the fictional planet Rigel VII appear in every Halloween special on The Simpsons. Kang and Kodos are brother and sister who, despite their gender differences, speak in a low voice male voices. They actively use such strange technologies as, for example, the fertilizing beam.

Monster. "The Beast" (1990)

The domestic cartoon tells about the life of a cute Beast in the most ordinary communal apartment. The furry and one-eyed monster wore glasses, knew how to conjure, and for dinner he cooked bones for himself in the common kitchen. One of his neighbors was clearly not happy with such cohabitation and constantly mocked the Beast, while the second, Aunt Masha, stood up for him all the time.

Fashum. "The Adventures of Aladdin" (1994 - 1995)

In one of the episodes, Aladdin and his company find themselves in a treasury that is simply bursting with excess wealth. It would seem, take anything, however, the greedy Fazir liked exclusively the diamond eye of the stone statue of the giant Fashum. After losing the precious eye, the giant comes to life and begins to seriously “press” the heroes of the series.

Magnemite. "Pokemon" (1997 - present)

Only in the Land of the Rising Sun could one of the cartoon characters become a creature with one eye, magnets and bolts twisted into its head. Magnemite's debut came in the first season of the series, which at one time made a lot of noise in Russia. The strange Pokemon in the story begins to have tender feelings for his "colleague" Pikachu, but after a few unrequited signs of attention, his romantic mood fades. You should have been more persistent, more persistent ..

Leela Turanga. "Futurama" (1999 - 2013)

A strong, independent and, as a result, lonely girl is one of the main characters of the recently closed Futurama series. Leela is a mutant, but all her physical deviations come down to the presence of one large eye instead of two, which, by the way, does not make her less attractive. Besides, she's in great shape. physical form! He holds the position of captain of the spacecraft of the courier company Planet Express.

Sheldon Plankton. "SpongeBob SquarePants" (1999 - present)

The main antagonist of the series simultaneously coexists with a tyrant with high self-esteem and a person suffering from an inferiority complex. As the owner of the unappealing Dumpster Bucket restaurant, Plankton is constantly trying to steal the secret recipe for the Krabby Patty, a hit dish from the competing Krusty Krab restaurant. The truth interferes with his plans all the time main character Sponge Bob cartoon. Married to a computer named Karen.

Cyclops. "Hercules" (2001)

And then on the list we have a classic example of a one-eyed character. As one of the opponents of Hercules in the eponymous Disney cartoon the cyclops performed, who appeared closer to the finale and not weakly "hung" the main character. The latter had by this moment lost all his divine powers, so the intense battle forced the audience to stop eating popcorn for a while and, opening their mouths, carefully follow what was happening. In the same picture, you can see the goddesses of fate Moir, one of which also suffers from an incomplete set of eye sockets.

Mike Wazowski. "Monsters Inc" (2002)

A spherical green monster with small horns has become one of the two main characters of the Monsters, Inc. cartoon. Wazowski talks a lot and is often nervous, but behind the mask of cynicism and indifference lies a sensual nature. By the way, Mike's object of sympathy is also the owner of one eye. The second time Wazowski appeared on the big screens was in the prequel Monsters University (2013).

Agent Wendy Pickley. "Lilo & Stitch" (2002)

At the beginning of the picture, Agent Pickley tries to catch the escaped experiment 626 (Stitch), but then becomes his friend. It is a thin, greenish-yellow alien with three legs, three long fingers, a wide mouth, two purple tongues, and one large eye. Appearance is far from Wendy's only oddity. Despite his belonging to the male sex, he simply loves to wear women's clothing and wigs. It's all strange, strange ... Agent Pickley also returned to the audience in the series based on the original picture.

AUTO. "WALL-E" (2008)

The robot assistant to the captain of the Axiom, in fact, served as a navigator. Strict adherence to instructions did not allow AUTO to return the ship to the earth, which, as can be seen in the recording of another Eve robot, became quite livable. On this basis, the interests of the main characters clashed. AUTO locks the captain in the living quarters and takes command of the Axiom in his..um..hands. The character can hardly be called an unambiguous antagonist, since he simply obeyed the a113 program and kept the course laid down in it.

Professor Rrr. "Alice's Birthday" (2009)

And again, Russian animators spoil us with a character that fits perfectly into today's company. Dead languages specialist Professor Rrrr looks like an anthropomorphic green kitten with one eye. Together with Alice, they end up in a country suspiciously reminiscent of the USSR of the 1960s and set out in search of a spaceport. In the course of history, Rrrr helps out more than once main character, including helping her escape from prison.

BEAN. "Monsters vs. Aliens" (2009)

Ostylysin Benzoate Bicarbonate or B.O.B. for short. was born as a result of crossing a genetically modified tomato and a dessert mayonnaise soaked in chemicals. The absence of a brain in this shapeless and gelatinous "jelly" does not at all prevent him from being the real soul of the company. Maybe B.O.B. not the most outstanding monster, but a brilliant plan, as a rule, matures precisely from him. Also "lit up" in the series of the same name, continuing the events of the cartoon.

Tank. Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009)

Appeared only in the third part " ice age» Weasel Buck is constantly fighting for existence in the cruel world of prehistoric reptiles. After the fight with the dinosaur Rudy, the hero lost his right eye and went a little crazy, which, of course, could not but affect his behavior. So, the eccentric Buck began to "talk" on the stone, like on a mobile phone, and even married a pineapple.

Fifth. "9" (2009)

This year, unequivocally, turned out to be rich in one-eyed characters. A little cowardly, but a kind doll from the first minutes of its appearance on the screen wins the love of the audience. Possessing a talent for sewing, Fifth sews the torn off arm back on the main character. Previously, he was a doctor who saved the Scientist from a terrible disease and helped wounded soldiers to the last during the war with machines. By the way, in the Russian dubbing, Fifth speaks in the voice of rapper Guf.

Stuart. "Despicable Me" (2010)

Since the premiere of Despicable Me, minions have become a cultural phenomenon. One of these funny yellow men is called Stuart, and he differs from his colleagues in having only one eye. Lived in the Arctic with Bob and Kevin, then worked for Scarlett Overkill and Gru. In addition, Stewart appears in short films, as well as cartoons Despicable Me 2 (2013) and Minions (2015).

Iris Klops. "Monster School" (2010)

The series is essentially a kind of advertisement for a series of fashion dolls with the same name. Iris's parents are cyclops, which, of course, could not but affect appearance their daughters. She has a big green eye, green skin and dark green hair color. The friendly but slightly awkward girl has a passion for astronomy, enjoys stargazing at her father's observatory, and dates a..um.. bull boy. In the truest sense of the word. Well, what do you want, it's still a school of monsters!

Deathstroke. "Junior Justice League" (2010 - present)

Slade Wilson, known in narrow circles under the creative pseudonym Deathstroke, lives in the fictional "universe" of DC Comics, so the appearance of the character in other cartoons of the company is quite natural. The brutal mercenary, despite his visual inferiority, skillfully handles firearms and poses a rather serious threat.

Shockwave. "Transformer Prime" (2010 - 2013)

It is worth noting that this character appears not only in the Transformers Prime series, but also in other films of this line. With a hexagonal head and a single eye, the Decepticon is an excellent cold-blooded strategist, which makes him a serious adversary for the Autobots. Shockwave became famous as a brilliant scientist, for whom “good” and “right” are only what is logical, and any emotions are just a manifestation of weakness.

Dolly. "Kumi-Kumi" (2012)

The last on our list, in fact, like the first, was a character created by domestic animators. A strange one-eyed blue glove-shaped creature harmoniously fits into the crazy world of the series. Not being the main character, Kukulka, nevertheless, quite often appears on the path of Yusi, Dzhugi and Shumadan (these are the names of the main characters, and not the words of a terrible spell at all), gets into funny situations and diligently corresponds to the image of "mi-mi-bear". nyashki.

That's why we especially love animators, so it's for their boundless imagination! Who else could come up with so many weird but such cool characters? :)

Thanks to Eduard Uspensky, from whose pen in 1966 a wonderful children's book "Crocodile Gena and his friends" was published. Most of all, of course, we are only interested in one friend of Gena - Cheburashka. It is known that the image of the "unknown animal" was written off from the writer's old toy, similar to either a bear or a hare. We do not know how the little readers of the book imagined this creature before the release of the cartoon. But thanks to the artist Leonid Shvartsman, Cheburashka turned out the way it is: incredibly cute!

In Cartoon Network's animated series Adventure Time, all the characters can be safely put on the list of strange ones, but it is Pupyrka who is especially loved by fans. Although there are a lot of those whom she terribly annoys :) The princess looks like a lilac cloud, she has a star in her forehead and a very bad temper. If this beauty "bites you, then you, too, will turn into a lilac cloud - same with werewolves opened.

It is known that the inspiration for the creation of the cartoon was board game Dungeons & Dragons, which the characters in The Big Bang Theory love so much. And for this fantastic miracle called "Adventure Time" you need both the producer Pendleton Ward and the animator working under the pseudonym Ghost Shrimp. Both are people with boundless imagination and a great sense of humor!

"Who lives at the bottom of the ocean? Spongebob SquarePants! SpongeBob - although a sea creature, it looks like an ordinary kitchen sponge. The creator of the character, Stephen Hillenburg, wanted this sponge to annoy the other cartoon characters as much as possible. And he succeeded. A yellow dishwashing sponge with huge kind eyes and endless energy really infuriates any bores (like Squidward), but not kids.

The animated series became a real cultural phenomenon of the 90s, and its main character sponge bob and now - a favorite of the public of all ages. Give more T-shirts and key rings with the image of SpongeBob!

Pikachu and other Pokemon

Pokémon are insanely weird but cute creatures (the Japanese often do this). At first, by the way, they were heroes in a computer game, and only then a cartoon appeared. Game designer Satoshi Tajiri, who had a hand in creating the game, wrote off the images of monsters from insects. Ouch! You also don't like cockroaches and other crawling creatures? But Satoshi collected insects as a child and even exchanged them with friends. Yes, Japanese schoolchildren had such hobbies.

But back to our Pokémon. First came the game for the Game Boy, after - the animated series, and then several full-length films. Anime fans probably have a lot of favorites among Pokemon, but according to the decision of the team working on the cartoon, it was yellow Pikachu that became one of key characters. And the public doesn't mind. I bet you're also looking forward to when you can finally go to the movies to see Detective Pikachu? :)

Smurfs were invented by the Belgian artist Pierre Culliforom already in the 50s of the last century. At first, in 1958, it was one character in a comic book, who eventually got a whole family. - now there is a whole village of them. Each of the hundred gnomes - a speaking name that reflects his most striking character trait or appearance. The blue men have their own Smurf religion and a special language in which they constantly use the root "smurf".

Fun fact: Smurfette, the Smurf girl, only appeared in The Smurfs in the 80s. And feminists almost immediately accused the creators of sexism: in their opinion, Smurfette was made a typical embodiment of all stupid stereotypes about women, reinforcing folk wisdom"all troubles from women."

Yellow creatures that look like a kinder surprise egg first appeared in Universal's Despicable Me. And they made the whole cartoon - like that squirrel from the "Ice Age" :) According to the plot, the minions are the creation of the hands of the evil genius Gru, to whom they serve. How exactly he brought them to light is not shown in the cartoon, but obviously it was not without genetic experiments. These freaks have their own special language, they are very hardworking and insanely funny.

And the minions were created by two wonderful (we quote the producer Janet Healy) director Pierre Soffin and Chris Reno. Chris came up with these funny servants of Gru, and Pierre finalized the idea: he added animation style and funny voices. Also, the creators of the picture decided that all minions should be similar, but in some small things they should have characteristic differences. It turned out exactly what we needed. Minions have won our hearts.

Totoro is a character from Hayao Miyazaki's anime. The author of the cartoon completely came up with the image of this huge fluffy creature, which resembles a mixture of a cat, tanuki and an owl. Totoro is a kind character, the guardian spirit of the forest, who helps other cartoon characters. Especially the girls Satsuko and Mei, who once met him in the forest. But if this huge good man is very angry, expect trouble. He is still a god.

Catdog

The story of two completely opposite characters who, by the will of fate, are forced to coexist, will not surprise anyone. But this couple is special because they share one body for two. On the one hand - a highly intelligent and cynical cat, on the other - a cheerful and naive dog. And no tail! It's incredibly fun to watch these guys get along together.

Interestingly, the idea of creating a strange hybrid of two animals came to director Peter Hannen thanks to his favorite childhood book A Few Superheroes You "ve Probably Never Heard Of. The book had a Super CatDog Man character with two heads: a cat and a dog. And the plot of the cartoon was written by Kotops gleaned from the film The Defiant Ones about two prison escapees, handcuffed.

Submarine

Frame from the cartoon "Yellow Submarine"

The legendary Liverpool four The Beatles have many recognizable screen incarnations, the silhouettes of musicians, their hairstyles, stylized album covers of the group cannot be confused with anything. Not the last place in the collection of artifacts of the history of the Beatles is the painted yellow submarine. Along with her famous passengers and their leader, young Fred, the submarine went up against the Blue Evils, who had taken over the musical land of Pepperland. Armed with the hits of Lennon and McCartney, the boat breaks through the resistance of the villains and restores peace and harmony in the magical land.

Billy Low

The film The Game of Death, which was not completed during the life of Bruce Lee, was subjected to a merciless processing that completely destroyed the original concept of the actor. Many scenes were rearranged, some of the scenes were played out by Lee's doubles, and the main character turned from a martial artist into an actor who is being pursued by a criminal syndicate. One thing has remained unchanged for sure - the famous yellow-and-black tracksuit of Bruce Lee's character, an image that still roams the screens to this day. In terms of popularity and recognizability, this outfit may well compete with the costumes of Darth Vader, the Joker or Indiana Jones.

Margelat

The Soviet film distribution was not particularly in a hurry to acquaint its viewers with the latest releases and hits from foreign companies, especially those belonging to the so-called capitalist countries. Instead of Hollywood and the BBC, our compatriots had to be content with the work of Eastern European studios, so the Romanian “Yellow Rose” with Florin Persic as a fearless fighter for justice was firmly registered in our box office. Otherwise, everything here is very close to Dumas and other authors of adventures: the oppression of the rich, the uprising of the common people, the mysterious hero, who is known only for his trademark - a bud left in the place of another feat.

Stanley Ipkiss

Shot from the film "Mask"

The protagonist of Chuck Russell's sci-fi comedy "The Mask" can hardly be blamed for the scarcity of his wardrobe. During the film, Jim Carrey's hero, who was captured by an old mask, changes two dozen outfits. However, a bright yellow suit topped with a magnificent wide-brimmed hat of the same ripe banana color is number one in the hero's wardrobe. The picture that opened the world to Cameron Diaz and elevated Kerry to Olympus, for the first time introduced the audience to the mysterious Loki and revived the comedy genre, "The Mask" is firmly associated with in green the face of the hero and his lemon jacket.

pikachu

Frame from the cartoon "Pokemon: Mewtwo vs Mew"

The Pokemon universe is so vast and intricate that even such a simple question as the name of the first full-length film about these funny creatures is controversial. For a point of support, we took the collection "Mute against Mew", which included three paintings about the cartoon characters of Japanese children. There was also a place in this almanac for Pikachu, one of the most beloved characters in the universe. The yellow hero has become a kind of symbol of the franchise, attracting new fans to its ranks to this day. In addition, the yellow mouse (yes, Pikachu is a mouse) has become a real idol of Japanese pop culture.

Bride

Shot from the movie "Kill Bill"

If images from other people's films are borrowed by others, then this is theft and plagiarism, if Quentin Tarantino pulled off the concepts, then this is homage and tribute to the classics. Let corporate lawyers deal with the rights, but comparing the image of Beatrix Kiddo, dressed in a yellow tracksuit, with the hero of Bruce Lee in the "Game of Death" cannot be avoided. Yes, Tarantino does not hide it, his bride is as furious, invincible and beautiful as the beloved hero of films about martial arts. In addition to this, Uma Thurman is also beautiful, and yellow color suits her very well.

Taxi

Shot from the movie "New York Taxi"

In the story of the color yellow in cinema, it is unusually difficult to get around a taxi, and therefore the Luc Besson franchise. But the trouble is that in France taxis are not painted yellow, so we had to choose New York cars from the Hollywood remake of New York Taxi as our heroes. The movie, I must say, turned out to be terrifying - neither Queen Latifah nor Jimmy Fallon are suitable for roles in a big movie, to put it mildly, and although the tape recaptured the money invested in it at the box office, there was no continuation. In the absence of acting, viewers can enjoy the yellow car races - and that's bread.

ivy

Shot from the film "Mysterious Forest"

Before finally going crazy, M. Night Shyamalan was known as the most promising director of Hollywood at the beginning of the century. Captivating stories, phenomenal ability to create a scary atmosphere, incredible characters and fantastic somersaults - it all ended in "Mysterious Forest", the last film where Shyamalan is still "cake". The main characters of the tape live in a small settlement, which is surrounded by a forest with monsters. It is believed that only yellow scares away monsters, and therefore the inhabitants wear lemon-colored cloaks. But even this attire does not save when the blind Ivy goes to get medicine for her lover in a nearby village.

yellow bastard

Shot from the movie "Sin City"

The gloomy "Sin City" by Robert Rodriguez allows rare characters to stand out from the black and white range with some kind of color spot, but not a maniac named Yellow Bastard. In the third big chapter In this film comic, police officer Hartigan meets with his Nemesis, a criminal whom he once mutilated, but did not kill. Now empowered to kill with impunity, the Yellow Bastard threatens to kill the only person Hartigan cares about. This means that someone must stop evil, even at the cost of their own lives.

Bumblebee

Promo frame for the movie "Transformers"

Giant robots choosing Earth as the site of their devastating confrontation is, of course, great, but even the most cynical viewer of Michael Bay's Transformers first of all dreamed of having a friend like Bumblebee (okay, some first dreamed of Megan Fox, but then definitely about Bumblebee). Judge for yourself - a robot that turns into a powerful fashionable car, unable to speak and communicating only by songs through the radio, fearless and ready for self-sacrifice. Perfect friend! Is it worth mentioning that he is also cute yellow?

The Simpsons

Frame from the cartoon "The Simpsons Movie"

We simply could not forget about the most famous animated family. Why the Simpsons are yellow, the audience has been asking for decades, but no one will give you a definite answer. But there are several versions, and you can stick to any of them. At the very beginning, the author of the animated series, Matt Groening, said that he categorically did not like the pink color that his first sketches with Homer and Bart were painted with, so the color was "temporarily" changed to yellow. Then the creators began to say that the lemon coloring of the heroes had become their “chip” and it would be a crime to refuse it. There is also an assumption that yellow was chosen as the brightest color in the palette that existed then on old TVs. It was supposed to attract spectators clicking remotes in search of entertainment. And it did work!

silk ghost

Shot from the film "Watchmen"

Are there superheroes in yellow suits? Of course, as much as you want! In the Marvel universe, the X-Men mutants have been dressed in the same outfits with a yellow insert for a while, and their DC competitors had a whole Yellow Lantern order. But all this still remains on the pages of paper comics, only small details seep into the cinema, and the Silk Ghost from Zack Snyder's Watchmen has to be recognized as the “yellowest” superhero. And although the black in the outfit of the heroine Malin Akerman is no less than yellow, the flashy banana color compares favorably with her gloomy colleagues who have taken on the mission of saving the world.

Spongebob

Shot from the movie "SpongeBob in 3D"

The underwater world of director Paul Tibbitt is by no means as gloomy, gray and monotonous as we are shown in the documentary chronicle of diving. The animated universe, where the sea sponge, crab, starfish, squirrel and plankton rule the show, is much more attractive, which is why the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants has such an army of fans. This year, the square yellow hero, together with his friends, got out of the television prison on the big cinema screen and made a splash. The yellow stupid hero is not just loved, he is praised and revered! Thank Bob! Yes captain!

Those who watched the popular cartoon "Despicable Me" probably remember the little funny and slightly stupid helpers of the main character - the villain Gru. In the cartoon they are called minions, but not everyone knows who was called minions just a few centuries ago.

It turns out that in France of the 16th century this was the name given to the favorites of noble persons, who at court could serve as advisers, guards, retinues, and in some cases, lovers of high-ranking nobles. Often the fate of the minion (fr. mignon - baby, cutie) was entirely in the hands of his patron. "Pets" fulfilled any whim of the nobility, so the word "minion" soon became synonymous with sexual promiscuity and venality.

Perhaps the most famous were the minions of Henry III of Valois, who excited the royal entourage with their recklessness, daring antics and countless intrigues. Some subjects of the king argued that Henry was far from connected with young people. friendly relations, but there is no confirmation of this in historical documents, so it is likely that these are just rumors.

The "effeminate" outfits of the minions, curled hair, wide collars and their exorbitant arrogance served as a constant object of ridicule. The king, ready to fulfill any whim of his favorites, presented them with titles and lands, which caused anger among both the nobles and the common people.

The famous six-wheeled "duel of minions" with the nobles from the retinue of the Duke of Guise turned into a lot of blood. Here it is appropriate to recall the French Cherchez la femme, since the woman was the reason for the quarrel. Once, the minion of the king, Jacques de Levy, the Count de Queluz, caught his opponent, Baron d'Entragues, at his mistress, but bowed with dignity, and the next day he made a joke about this in society, for which he was called by the baron to a duel, since the honor of the lady was hurt . Each came to the place of the duel with two seconds, who, trying to reconcile the fighters, pressed each other.

As a result, two of the king's favorites were killed, and the third was seriously injured. Henry III was inconsolable, in memory of his dead favorites, he ordered the erection of a luxurious marble tomb.

At the same time, the duel of minions brought into fashion the fight not only of the direct participants in the duel, but also of their seconds, which had previously been completely excluded.
