We can say what the fashionable colors in clothing in 2020 will be in two words: warm and rich. There will be many unexpected decisions, bright neon colors. At the same time, certain pastel shades will remain in trend.

General direction

The fashion of the season clearly shows the influence of retro styles of the last century. It concerns both design and color solutions. Then bohemia very favorably accepted the protest of designers against dullness and dullness. Now this trend is experiencing another reincarnation, which is expressed in fashionable clothing colors in 2020.

Fashion trends are aimed at love of life, bright emotions, practicality, which distinguishes the next season from the glamor or aristocracy of previous ones. That’s why designers give preference to bright, rich shades of grass, sky, grapes, eggplant, sun, and fuchsia. Not without the warm pastel colors inherent in nature - Kashmir rose, May lilac, pale sand, sky blue will be especially fashionable clothing colors for the summer of 2020.

Photos:

Another trend is the unexpected use of these shades. Stylists break all traditions by presenting models in bright blue eco-fur coats or using python skin inserts on any item of clothing. The same goes for pastel colors - traditionally used for summer dresses, now they are moving to shoes, coats, fur coats, and accessories.

The third direction concerns color combinations. Bold experiments led to the appearance of photos of clothes combining contrasting fashionable colors of 2020. More discreet designers use small, eye-catching elements. Animal prints take on non-standard colors not found in nature. So, you can find a snakeskin dress or coat, painted in neon or pastel colors.

The only adherence to tradition remains regarding classical tones. Here, too, everything is as clear as possible: if it’s black, then it’s charcoal, if it’s white, it’s absolutely sterile. The fashionable gray color for clothes in 2020 is not mousy-dark, not vaguely light, but rich, noble. Beige acquires additional depth, softness, and warmth.

And the most basic trend. A carefully selected wardrobe will become truly stylish if any outfit combines at least two shades. The requirements for the difference between them are very wide, from one tone to maximum contrast. Therefore, there will not be much difficulty.

Specifically about each shade

The shades that will be the most trending are listed in the table.

Designers offer not only the shades themselves with outfit options. Judging by fashion shows and celebrity appearances, it is possible to determine situations for which a specific item of the appropriate color is appropriate.

At a social party in 2020, you can attract attention and get good photos with another item of clothing in the color of scarlet dawn or emerald. Real shine will come out if you use shiny fabric, sequins, and beaded embroidery.

Wine shades - cherry, burgundy, grape - will add French charm. They will be successfully complemented by accessories in scarlet and gray tones.

Deep blue will be an elegant replacement for black. It will look especially strict together with gray. These are the colors of clothing that will be fashionable throughout 2020, spring, autumn, summer and winter. A provocative accent can be made with a small detail of pink or yellow.

Although no one has yet canceled the true classics. Therefore, an outfit in black, white, beige or gray colors will look no less aristocratic. Literally any trendy color that is used to create accents suits them.

A romantic set can be made from all shades of pastel. Skillfully combining these fashionable clothing colors with each other and with beige, also popular in 2020, creates a soft, attractive look.

A set that combines at least three rich tones will be impressively bright and memorable. For example, emerald, scarlet and canary yellow. Such things can have a very simple cut, the colors will be quite enough.

Preferences of leading stylists

Such a variety of color palettes gives a wide scope for creativity to fashion designers. They use fashionable colors of 2020 for clothes in monochrome tones, suitable for spring and summer, and build bright contrasting and single-color tonal compositions.

Used for non-standard coloring of prints, creating trendy geometric patchworks.

  6. Miu Miu offers items made of suede and leather in intense tones of emerald, lilac and blue.

The long-awaited warm days are coming, and with them the color palette in the collections of famous brands is noticeably livening up and becoming brighter. What do designers offer us to update our wardrobe of light clothes? Let's try to figure out the most popular shades and patterns, which could be seen at past shows during Fashion Weeks in New York, Moscow and Milan.

In the spring and summer of 2017, leading couturiers paid special attention to the convenience of choosing colors in the wardrobe and harmony in combinations, and therefore recommend both restrained and rich shades that are comfortable and pleasing to the eye. This palette can not only be easily used for everyday wear, but is also great for evening wear. Here you can see transparent shades of blue, the raging flame of orange, the warmth of greenery and sun, as well as a delicate powdery shade of pink for romantic natures.

Shade Niagara (Niagara)

A faded blue color with a slight addition of gray can often be found among denim items, and therefore it looks most appropriate in a casual style. But the restraint and ease of the shade allowed it to go beyond the everyday wardrobe and become universal, smoothly blending into chic evening styles and office style.

White, gold, yellow, scarlet, orange and other popular shades of this season are ideal for combination with the Niagara shade - Lapis Blue, Pale Dogwood and Island Paradise. A monochrome look made from Niagara-colored items, slightly “diluted” with accessories of other shades, also produces an interesting effect.

Shade Primrose Yellow

The rich shade of yellow seems to radiate the aroma of summer flowers and is a kind of replacement for the mustard shade that is relevant in winter. It will perfectly cheer you up in rainy weather and brighten up a warm sunny day. Designers successfully use the bright shade for evening, casual and even business outfits, believing that yellow can significantly diversify and enliven a restrained office style.

The brightness and richness of Primrose Yellow is best highlighted by shades of blue, green and orange, as well as colors that are popular this spring and summer, especially Kale and Flame.

Shade Lapis Blue (Azure)

The deep shade of blue has taken leading positions in the shows of popular brands thanks to its noble charm and inexplicable attraction. Despite the dark tone, it remarkably refreshes the appearance and gives a blush to even the palest skin. Lapis Blue (Azure) is very versatile, it is equally suitable for creating elegant, extravagant and everyday looks.

Azure blue best shows its boundlessness and uniqueness in contrasting combinations, for example, with the colors Flame, Island Paradise, Kale and Primrose Yellow. Its tandem with white, black, emerald and scarlet shades is also considered harmonious.

Shade Flame

The fiery shade mixed with bright orange and red is considered the most saturated among the line of current colors. It is really aggressive, very effective and eye-catching. Famous couturiers could not help but take advantage of this property of the Flame shade, making it a leading color in their collections.

In combination with white, muted green and light shades of blue, for example, with Island Paradise, the “fiery” red-orange becomes calmer, and the contrast with black or Primrose Yellow, as well as other equally bright shades makes Flame even more shocking and scorching.

Shade Island Paradise

The light transparent shade is perfect for the wonderful spring-summer season, reminiscent of the eye-pleasing turquoise of the sky. Its smoky charm and lightness helped it take a leading place in designer collections, and the femininity, tenderness and airiness of Island Paradise will not leave romantic fashionistas indifferent.

Rich shades of red, crimson and orange, including Flame, contrast with transparent blue, thereby standing out even more against its background. A calm and elegant look can be achieved by complementing the “heavenly” color with light shades, such as Pale Dogwood, and especially white. An emphasis on the exoticism of the outfit can be made by combining Island Paradise with a chocolate or sand shade; Hazelnut, which is leading this season, is also suitable.

Shade Pale Dogwood (Pale Dogwood)

A very delicate and natural color, gives the image a slight touch of frankness. It creates a feeling of innocence and purity. Famous fashion designers chose it not by chance - Pale Dogwood (Pale Dogwood) perfectly emphasizes the tan and harmoniously blends into the atmosphere of sunny warm days.

Due to its similarity to the skin, the light powder color is ideal for combination, it is perfectly compatible with any possible shade, but the gray, pale blue Island Paradise (Paradise Island) and Hazelnut (Hazelnut) especially emphasize its beauty. Juicy colors - light green and scarlet, including the fiery color Flame, which is very popular in the coming season, will help to slightly revive and add brightness to the powdery shade.

Shade Greenery (Greens)

The classic green shade seems to personify nature coming to life in spring. Slightly muted, without pretentious brightness, it became a favorite of the season and managed to fill most fashion shows. Pleasant to the eye and positive shade is perfect for rainy spring weather, and in summer it will remind you of a desired holiday surrounded by foliage.

The medium saturation of the shade allows you to combine Greenery with both very bright and deep dark colors. For office style, gray, dark blue and white additions will be appropriate, and in your free time you can get a little wild by combining a grassy shade with any of the line of popular colors, or with all of them at once!

Shade Pink Yarrow (Pink Yarrow)

The rich and deep shade easily replaced the fuchsia color of last season thanks to its moderate brightness and calmness. Discreet Pink Yarrow fits perfectly into an elegant style, making it more versatile and interesting. It is also suitable for evening outings and will decorate any setting with its nobility.

Originality in an image where Pink Yarrow is the main tone can be ensured by adding accessories in scarlet, lilac, bright yellow (for example, Primrose Yellow) or other shades of pink. To create a discreet classic set suitable for the office, it is better to choose complements in muted shades of gray, white, and black. The combination with the leading shade of brown this season - Hazelnut - will also be harmonious.

Shade Kale (Cabbage)

The muted green color with a grayish haze bears little resemblance to cabbage, but rather to the familiar and familiar khaki. Now casual and military styles, which are characterized by this color, are experiencing another peak in popularity, and the more relevant it becomes for the spring-summer wardrobe. Discreet Kale (Cabbage) is very comfortable to wear, so it is more often found in loose, non-formal clothing.

Comfortable color suits rich and light shades equally well, all you have to do is choose your option. It highlights the vibrancy of coral and Primrose Yellow, Pink Yarrow and Flame. In an image in which you want to focus not on clothes, but on appearance, Hazelnut, Lapis Blue, Greenery and Pale Dogwood are ideal for combining with Kale.

Shade Hazelnut

The light brown shade is natural in origin, and its calming influence is impossible to resist. In combinations, it can seriously compete with the classic black and white colors, making the image warm and harmonious. A basic wardrobe can easily be created using walnut color - it fits perfectly into the framework of an elegant style.

All possible colors will make an excellent pair with the natural brown shade: for the office it is ideal to combine with gray, white, light blue and pink, for example, with Island Paradise and Pale Dogwood. In your free time, you can play with colors, combining walnut with bright, rich shades - orange, light green and red, including Flame and Primrose Yellow.

Color variety

Spring and summer are the best seasons to decide to purchase a bright and original new thing. Of course, all of the listed colors are favorites, but just like any person, famous couturiers have their own views on the choice of shades to wear on warm days. In the collections you can find both familiar basic colors and extravagant bright ones. In any case, you can take note of the recommended must-have shades; they will be repeated in the autumn-winter fashion shows.

Metallic shine

Fabrics imitating gold or silver were presented in all possible options - accessories, shoes, bags and, of course, clothes even in winter, but they did not lose their relevance even in the warm season. A democratic silvery sheen or a noble golden sparkle – every fashionista will find something to her liking.

Charming white

White has always been popular on hot days, each time experiencing a new comeback after the winter stagnation. This time the white color is presented as part of an airy, light and almost ethereal image. It is often accompanied by lace and transparent fabrics, further enhancing the angelic impression.

Endless Black

Black is considered a universal color when choosing color combinations and exclusively emphasizes bright prints or rich shades. But it can also appear in monochrome, creating a total black look. Leading brands have not forgotten to include this deep and mystical color in their collections, presenting it in both extravagant clothing and elegant outfits.

Feminine pink

The fashion for unisex style is gradually becoming a thing of the past, and this trend is clearly demonstrated by the growing popularity of shades of pink. The palette of pink flowers is considered the most feminine, and the emphasized tenderness and slight naivety further enhance this impression.

Spectacular red

The color red invariably attracts attention, which is why fatal beauties are often dressed in red outfits. The couturiers did not ignore the hot color this season either, showing their boundless imagination and a great variety of possible color solutions. On the catwalks one could see red mixed with lilac, beige, orange, black and yellow; all that remains is to choose the appropriate option.

Warm brown

Brown color is of natural origin, which is perhaps why it exudes warmth and comfort. The spring/summer season offers many different shades of brown to choose from, inviting memories of warm sand, majestic rocks or a cup of hot chocolate.

Multifaceted purple

Violet shades perfectly symbolize the abundance of flowers in front gardens and flower beds, reminiscent of blooming lilacs, petunias, violets and hyacinths. Feminine shades can be seen in the spring-summer collections in all their versatility, which further enhances the feeling of spring and the rebirth of nature.

The color palette of shades for spring and summer 2017 is distinguished by its unique compatibility; all shades can be mixed with each other, choosing more and more new color combinations. Using a line of popular colors, you can choose stylish and fashionable sets for all occasions, taking into account your taste and occupation. Well, the freedom of decision remains yours!

2017-05-16

Every six months, the Pantone Color Institute presents a new palette consisting of 10 fashionable shades for the next season. In the spring and summer of 2019-2020, soft natural tones await us. They will remind us of the connection with nature and give us peace and carefreeness, which is so lacking in our time of constant rush and all kinds of gadgets. What colors will be trending in spring and summer? How to combine shades correctly to look stylish and fashionable?

The Pantone Color Institute is the main expert in choosing a fashion palette

Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Institute, explained the choice of shades by saying that people are already tired of digital technologies, which have become overwhelming and want to relax and tune in to the positive.

This season's color palette will take us to a sunnier, happier place where each of us can express ourselves. There is so much uncertainty and uncertainty in our lives that we constantly yearn for calmer days. Soft undertones of the spring-summer season will give you a feeling of peace and complete relaxation.

The main colors of this season are soft and calm. They remind you of the beauty of nature, while relaxing and encouraging action. When creating collections, designers looked for inspiration in the works of abstract artists and architects. Famous painters, who are characterized by the use of bright colors and clear lines, had a huge influence on the choice of fashion trends for the new season.

These are paintings, for example, by Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Frank Stella and Sam Falls. Another source of inspiration was reviews from travelers on various trips. Each journey is filled with different colors and emotions, so it is not surprising that the designers found many interesting details in them. The color palette was chosen for a reason. Experts from the Pantone Institute took into account all fashion trends and presented colors that reflect the world in which we live.

Fashionable colors of the spring-summer season

The main color of the next season will be Rose Quartz. This powdery shade is reminiscent of blossoming trees, spring evenings and stunning sunsets. Eisman believes that despite the fact that rose quartz is sweet and marshmallow, it is suitable for both women and men. This shade is found in many designers and goes well with calm blue (Serenity), peach (Peach Echo) and gray-lilac (Lilac Gray). Find inspiration in the collections of Emporio Armani, Stella McCartney and Hervé Léger by Max Azria.

Paired with calm blue (Serenity), pink (Rose Quartz) and gray-lilac (Lilac Gray) it looks perfect. The delicate peach inspired Christian Siriano, Roberto Cavalli and Emporio Armani to create interesting combinations.

We told you about 10 fashionable shades of the spring-summer season, presented by specialists from the Pantone Color Institute. By combining these shades, you can create many interesting combinations that are right for you. Don't forget that this palette can be used not only in clothes, but also in accessories, makeup and manicure. To look stylish, we recommend creating a basic wardrobe using basic neutral colors and adding bright accents. Don't be afraid to experiment and be stylish.

The most authoritative source that knows everything possible about color, the Pantone Color Institute research center, has already announced that it will reign in 2017.

Winter favorites

While the cold notes have not yet completely faded, before moving on to the new ten favorite colors, we should not forget about the now dominant and still relevant range of this season, proclaimed by the same Pantone Institute. If we consider the entire palette as a whole, we cannot help but notice that it is a little “dusted”, in other words, the colors are not dazzlingly bright. Quite the contrary, fashionable shades are rather muted and cold, although they are diluted with several more “friendly” ones, which are designed to warm you up on gloomy winter days. But they are also very restrained, which gives them some aristocracy.

Aurora Red

The exception is a bright red-orange called Aurora Red (hereinafter all original shade names are indicated according to Pantone). Perhaps the only vibrant color that bursts into whitish winter everyday life so opportunely. This not quite classic shade of red mixed with terracotta and coral fits well into almost all the details of the wardrobe. Many designers actively use it in their collections, painting outerwear, evening dresses, everyday looks, and even shoes with accessories.

Potter's Clay, Spicy Mustard and Airy Blue

Next in intensity, but already calmer shades of baked clay (Potter's Clay) and spicy mustard (Spicy Mustard) are very pleasing to the eye, and the warmth and comfort emanating from them is most welcome during the cold season. In addition, they are very combine favorably with other fashionable colors this season - river blue (Riverside) and airy blue (Airy Blue). Both of these shades seem to be imbued with the frost and gray of the winter sky. The first is deeper and richer, the second is light and delicate.

Sharkskin

Another cold, but no less pleasing to the eye and popular shade is shark skin (Sharkskin). A beautiful gray color, moderately saturated, but not too dark, with a slight bluish tint, which is why it got its name. It can be found in almost all collections of the new season, which is not surprising, given its practicality and excellent feature - it can be combined with almost all existing colors and their shades.

Bodacious

The next fashionable color, in all likelihood, already hints at the long-awaited arrival of spring - lilac-violet, or, if its name is translated literally, sensual (Bodacious). This shade, reminiscent of lilac flowers, is very delicate and at the same time rich, it clearly has soft pinkish reflections, balanced by a cool blue tint. In a word, a charming and intriguing color is a harbinger of spring.

Dusty Cedar

Pink cedar (Dusty Cedar) is an unusual mixture of pink and brown, as if a little dusty with time, and as a result has acquired a special charm and restraint. A noble color that famous couturiers chose for many of their models. And how unusual and impressive pink fur coats and coats look!

Warm Taupe

Warm beige is one of the most practical and popular favorites this winter. A soft, almost pastel gray-brown color, in which there is no hint of “dirt”, as often happens when mixing such shades. On the contrary, it is no less refined than river blue and pink cedar, which share its popularity.

Lush Meadow

And for dessert - a chic emerald green color (Lush Meadow), literally meaning “lush meadow”. An elegant shade reminiscent of a bottle of champagne is certainly in demand, as evidenced by the abundance of outfits in a variety of styles and textures from recognized fashion masters who actively exploit this beautiful green undertone.

Forecasts for the coming year

With the arrival of spring and warmer weather, the palette of fashionable colors will become warmer and bolder. They will become brighter and sunnier, freed from “spraying” and gain greater expressiveness. Rich tropical shades will entice you to travel to distant islands, as their names alone indicate: island paradise, Niagara, flame...

Island Paradise

So, imagine a pale blue, like a spring sky, - this is exactly how one of the favorite shades of the blue palette among the great creators of fashion appears before our eyes - Island Paradise.

Lapis Blue

Following it is a more intense and rich blue lapis (Lapis Blue). This electric shade is so expressive and beautiful that it can often be found in evening dresses, although it is no less appropriate in everyday looks.

Niagara

There will be as many as three shades of blue, and the cool blue color (Niagara) completes this trio. Deep and mesmerizing, like the waves of a waterfall, this color looks both restrained and majestic. Maybe that's why it can be seen so often on fashion catwalks.

Kale

From the blue-blue palette we smoothly move to green shades, and one of the newfangled ones is the color called “kale”. There is something in it from military, and from sea turquoise, and, of course, from curly cabbage, which gave it its name. In general, the color is interesting, unusual and very suitable for stylish looks.

Greenary

Not far behind is grass green (Greenary), a juicy and sunny (thanks to yellowish inclusions) color of fresh greenery. A pleasant and unobtrusive spring shade.

Primerose Yellow

Yellow primrose (Primerose Yellow) is simply the color of the March sun, when it is not yet blinding with its brightness, but is already warming. Many designers also did not remain indifferent to it, and clearly demonstrated this in their fashion creations for the coming season.

Flame

But bright and expressive, like an indomitable flame, terracotta-orange (Flame), perhaps, eclipsed all other colors from the fashionable dozen. It is so intense that it simply does not require unnecessary details and decorations; it itself is already a winning frame for any image.

Pink Yarrow

The so-called pink yarrow (Pink Yarrow) is not too far behind the previous color in intensity. This color is slightly paler than fuchsia, and it is precisely thanks to this muted color that in the new year it will become much more popular than its “electrified” brother.

Pale Dogwood and Hazelnut

Fashion has not ignored pastel shades. Two representatives of this delicate range will be in favor - pale dogwood and hazelnut. And if the first of them is closer to pink, then in the second shades of beige definitely predominate. But both of them look very cute, elegant and sophisticated, diluting the diversity of the other eight favorites of 2017.

Uncrowned Kings

This is how the chosen colors of 2017 will appear according to Pantone, whose authority, perhaps, no one will dare to argue with. However, despite the dozen colors he crowned, there is still a very extensive palette of other, no less popular shades, which it would be simply criminal not to mention. How can you not admire the splendor of wine, plum and burgundy tones? And what about the eternal, like the Universe itself, white color and its milky-cream shades, without which not a single fashion show of the new season could do? And noble purple, the color of cardinals and kings? All of them are equally worthy of attention and reverence, and therefore leading fashion houses actively use them when creating their masterpieces.

2017 will be rich and magnificent, especially in the world of fashion. Like his patron, the Fire Rooster, he does not accept dullness and facelessness, and therefore long live
